Our Mission: Giving Seniors A Voice

Our mission is to give seniors a voice—economically, politically, and socially—by creating a community network that unites generations, fosters public and private partnerships, and bridges service gaps to ensure seniors have access to vital resources, affordable housing, and opportunities for engagement.

Seniors Voice PDX creates community, senior-friendly solutions, and events that raise awareness, bring people together, inspire unity, and develop innovative solutions for seniors to age with dignity and purpose.

Through cross-cultural and multigenerational collaborations, we are creating a city-wide alliance: an inclusive community network that develops preventive solutions to complex social problems.

Mission Possible: Let’s Turn the Lights Back On Together

A citywide celebration of unity, respect, and healing: music, art, storytelling, and collective healing guided by the wisdom and blessings of Portland’s elders from all cultures.

This gathering is inspired by a collective vision of renewal—a partnership between community, city, and private leaders that opens pathways for healing, harmony, and new beginnings. Together, we embody the spirit: “We Are All in This Together.”

Create a Public & Private Trust — Mission Possible

We are establishing a public–private partnership to explore options for a dedicated Senior Trust that empowers seniors to age with dignity and security. Guided by a steering committee of public and private partners, we are united in our mission to protect and uplift our elders.

The Senior Trust is intended to fill a critical gap for seniors facing temporary financial hardship and provide support that helps them remain in their homes.

In addition to direct financial support, the trust will fund energy-efficiency improvements, housing repairs, and essential updates that make homes safer, healthier, and more sustainable.

Seniors Voice PDX — Media Campaign

The Golden Eagle Messengers are launching a media campaign to raise awareness about the challenges seniors face as they navigate a rapidly changing world. At the heart of this effort is our commitment to Give Seniors A Voice—to ensure their stories, wisdom, and vulnerabilities are seen, heard, and honored.

Our video team is interviewing seniors willing to share experiences of resilience, insight, and the realities of aging that too often go unheard. Together, we will share these stories with the media and the world to educate, inspire, and spark collective action.

Community for Positive Aging

Community For Positive Aging is an oasis of love, laughter, creativity, activity, wisdom, knowledge, and support. Healing happens in community, not isolation.

We are honored to partner with Community for Positive Aging, a model senior center that hosts activities and workshops including Senior Emergency Preparedness.

Innovative Housing & Energy Efficient Partnerships

Our vision is to create a future where every senior can age in community with dignity, security, and comfort. The Seniors Network Alliance is building bridges between seniors, service providers, community organizations, and public–private partners to make this vision a reality.

• Expand affordable housing options designed with seniors in mind.
• Provide financial support and resources that help seniors remain in their homes when faced with hardship.
• Incorporate energy-efficient solutions that lower costs, increase comfort, and create more sustainable communities.
• Offer repair and maintenance support so homes remain safe, accessible, and welcoming.

Anna Abraham & Nancy Chapin

Anna Abraham

Public-Private Partnerships Specialist

Anna’s journey is rooted in the Human Potential Movement, the Spirit of Love, and “Can Do” Empowerment. Her work bridges divides, uplifts communities, and brings generations together around preventative win-win solutions. Her decades of service have earned multiple honors, including the Mayor’s Spirit of Portland Award.

Nancy Chapin

Community Engagement Specialist

Nancy, owner and operator of TSG Services, has assisted dozens of organizations and hundreds of people with events, boards, planning, facilitation, and project coordination. Her background also includes teaching and a Master’s in Public Administration from Portland State University.
